What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed a man at US 62 and County Rd 109 in Gaines County, TX on April 11th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:21 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 headed northeast on US 62 was in the process of turning onto County Rd 109, allegedly failing to yield while doing so. Reports say the vehicle collided with a Southwest bound Chevrolet Tahoe. The collision left 49-year-old Tahoe operator, Eric Luevano, seriously injured. Authorities say Luevano was hospitalized and later died from his injuries. The other driver, identified as 23-year-old Ever Montes, was hospitalized with suspected minor injuries.
