Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-10 in Hudspeth County, TX on March 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:26 p.m. According to their investigation, a tractor-trailer operated by 31-year-old Erick Trejo Orta was headed eastbound in a right lane of I-10 as it approached a USBP checkpoint. Police believe the truck failed to control its speed and struck the rear of another tractor-trailer operated by a 40=year-old Perris, CA man. The collision caused fatal injuries to Orta while the other driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
