What Happened

El Paso Police are investigating a collision that injured a pedestrian at San Juan St in El Paso, TX on November 17th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. A Chevrolet Tahoe operated by 24-year-old Juset DeSantiago was headed southbound when it struck a woman walking towards a dumpster. It then struck a Ford Escape, jumped a curb and struck a nearby apartment building. Cervantes was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. DeSantiago was also taken to an area hospital for treatment before later being arrested on possession charges and a pending Intoxication Assault charge.
