Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at US Hwy 69 in Cherokee County, TX on March 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban operated by 35-year-old Erika Diaz was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it swerved to avoid colliding with the rear of another vehicle. The vehicle then lost control and went into a skid, overturning several times. Diaz suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
