What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at County Rd 1612 in San Patricio County, TX on March 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:11 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Sorento operated by 41-year-old Ernie Rodriguez was traveling northbound on County Rd 1612 before allegedly veering from its lane before colliding head-on with a Ford F-350 traveling southbound. Rodriguez was seriously injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital before later dying from his injuries. The occupants of the Ford allegedly refused medical transport at the scene.
