What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured three people at State Hwy 35 and Harrison Rd in Matagorda County, TX on May 21st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4 p.m.  Chevrolet Impala operated by a 22-year-old Brazoria man reportedly attempted a u-turn when unsafe and collided with a Toyota Tundra operated by 30-year-old Esaul Hernandez. Hernandez suffered minor injuries, along with a passenger in the other vehicle. The Impala driver was seriously injured. Police say that open alcoholic containers were located in the Impala.
