Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at I-10 in Colorado County, TX on October 13th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:16 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 58-year-old Sugar Land, TX man reportedly suffered a tire blow out while traveling westbound on I-10 and pulled over into the shoulder. Police say the vehicle was safely off the roadway with traffic cones around the vehicle while the driver called for assistance. A Dodge Ram operated by 19-year-old Ethan Mahaffey was said to have been approaching at a high rate of a speed when it veered from its lane and struck the truck. Mahaffey suffered serious injuries in the collision. The Sugar Land man was not injured. Additional information was not available.
