Police say the incident happened around 12:24 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Altima operated by a 32-year-old Buda man was headed northbound on FM 1854 before veering into a southbound lane. It then collided with a Mazda 3 operated by 33-year-old Fabian Ortega Cruz. Cruz had injuries believed to be serious in nature while the Buda man had non-life-threatening injuries.
