Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured five people at FM 1774 in Grimes County, TX on November 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:47 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla was was southbound on FM 1774, approaching a vehicle uninvolved in the crash. The Toyota is said to have passed tat vehicle in a turn lane while nearing a curb. From there, police say a front tire on the vehicle struck the curb, causing it to lose control and strike a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Officials say four occupants in the Toyota, including the 24-year-old driver, were seriously injured. A fifth occupant had possible injuries while the driver of the Chevrolet had non-life-threatening injuries. Sources indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued against the Toyota operator.
