What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at US 59 in Lufkin, TX on April 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Honda Civic operated by 60-year-old Florencio Rodriguez was headed northbound on First Street when it attempted to turn left onto Southwood Dr when it failed to yield and collided with a Ford Taurus operated by 60-year-old Janet Kennedy. Both Kennedy and a 36-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Rodriguez suffered serious injuries and officers recommended and/or issued a Failure to Yield Right of Way charge.
