What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Market St in Hearne, TX on September 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:57 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 35-year-old Abiy Kidane is said to have been headed southbound on North Market St in an inside lane when it made a lane change, striking a Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer in an outside lane. The driver, 73-year-old Floyd Briscoe Hawkins, suffered minor injuries. Kidane was not injured. Investigators attribute driver inattention on the part of both drivers as factors for the crash.
