Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured four people at US 271 in Red River County, TX on August 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by a 20-year-old Bogata man was headed northbound on US 271 is alleged to have crossed a center line into an incorrect side of the roadway in a non passing zone. The vehicle is believed to have approached a Mercedes-Benz that allegedly took evasive action as the Dodge moved back into a northbound lane. The vehicles collided, leaving the 76-year-old river of the Mercedes and a 17-year-old passenger with serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge and a 14-year-old Mercedes passenger suffered less serious injuries, according to authorities. Additional information was not immediately available.
