What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured four people at I-45 and Bammel Rd in Harris County, TX on August 5th, 2021. A tractor-trailer headed north in a left lane collided with a passenger car that crossed in front of it. The truck was carrying 30,000 pounds of cargo, making it difficult for it to come to a stop fast enough to avoid a collision. Three people in the passenger car and the driver of the truck all suffered minor injuries. Police say that truck was potentially following too closely and that the car failed to pass to the left safely.
