What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at  TX 21 in Bastrop County, TX on September 5th, 2022. Police say it happened around 3:26 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 operated by a 46-year-old Bastrop man was headed eastbound on TX 21 and failed to control its speed, colliding with the rear of a Dodge Ram stopped for traffic. The impact pushed the Dodge into a vehicle ahead, causing the driver of the Dodge, 530year-old Francisco Alvarez, serious injuries. The Bastrop man was not injured and arrested on an Intoxication Assault charge.
