Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 161 in Irving, TX on January 28h, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:37 a.m. According to investigators, a Lincoln Town Car was southbound, allegedly at a high rate of speed, prior to colliding with the rear of a Toyota Corolla. Reports say the occupants of the Toyota, the driver identified as 28-year-old Christopher Jackson and a 27-year-old passenger, both had possible, unconfirmed injuries. The Lincoln operator, identified as 50-year-old Franklin Whaley, was seriously injured, police say. Sources indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
