What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at I-20 in Crane County, TX on November 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:15 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was allegedly stuck in sand at a shoulder area. A second truck was nearby attempting to render aid while the driver of the stalled truck, 61-year-old Freddy Arias, was standing outside the truck near the front. Officials say the area was poorly lit was as another commercial truck approaching. The truck is said to have collided with the second truck before veering into and striking Arias, who was seriously injured and hospitalized for treatment. Ropes say there no other reported injuries and additional information was not available.
