What Happened

Lufkin Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at North Timberland Dr and Paul Ave in Lufkin, TX on December 5th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. 53-year-old Gabriel Garcia was reportedly attempting to cross the intersection when he was struck by what is believed to have been a Chevrolet Impala. The Impala did not stop after impact and fled the scene. Garcia was taken to an area hospital with injuries that he was pronounced dead from just after arrival. Police later arrested 32-year-old Roberto Carlos Guerrero in connection with the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
