What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a person at FM 76 in Socorro, TX on April 23rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:57 a.m. between a pair of Honda Civic's. The first Civic, operated by a 21-year-old male who was not publicly identified, was westbound on North Loop. The second, operated by 26-year-old Andres Hernandez, was westbound ahead of the other Honda. Police allege the first Honda struck the rear of the second when it came to stop for a red traffic signal. Officials say a passenger in the second Honda, identified as 28-year-old Gabriel Hernandez, was seriously injured. They say Andres Hernandez was also injured and both were hospitalized for treatment. The other driver was not injured, according to police, and cited for Failure to Control Speed and Following Too Closely.
