What Happened

San Antonio Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at N Zarzamora St and Culebra Rd in San Antonio, TX on January 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. An eastbound Dodge Ram is said to have driven past a red light and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado was pushed into a stopped Jeep Patriot and a 53-year-old woman in the rear passenger side of the Chevrolet, identified as Gabriella Padilla, suffered fatal injuries. One person in the Jeep was hospitalized with serious injuries while the Dodge driver was treated for minor injuries. Police say that same driver, identified as 26-year-old Edwin Sanabna Pena, was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
