What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 59 in Liberty County, TX on April 25th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:37 p.m. According to investigators, a commercial truck operated by a 63-year-old Hanoverton, OH man was headed northbound on US 59 while a Toyota Camry operated by 73-year-old Gary Fred Garner was headed northbound in an outside lane. Police say the Camry was attempting to pass another vehicle ahead and changed lanes when unsafe, colliding with the tractor-trailer in the process. Garner suffered serious injuries in the collision. A 62-year-old passenger, Patricia Garner, was less seriously injured. The truck driver was unharmed. Additional information was not immediately available.
