What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Old Burnette Rd in Travis County, TX on August 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:40 p.m. A commercial truck headed southbound on Burnett approached a curve and its cargo, a load of wood, separated from the truck. The wood struck a Mitsubishi operated by 67-year-old George Lewis Lovelace, causing the Mitsubishi to lose control and veer from the road. Lovelace suffered serious injuries. The truck driver was not injured and charged with Unsecured Load.
