What Happened

Arkansas State Police have identified the person killed in a crash at I-40 in Prairie County, AR on December 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:55 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Altima and tractor-trailer were both headed eastbound on I-40 as both approached a blocked lane. The blocked lane was due to a fire engine attempting to douse a trailer fire, causing traffic in the array. The Nissan is said to have collided with the rear of the truck and one person, identified as 72-year-old George Huggs, suffered fatal injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
