What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-610 in Houston, TX on July 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:15 p.m. A Mitsubishi Eclipse operated by 26-year-old Gerardo Gomez Romero reportedly suffered a flat tire and came to stop in a moving traffic lane. Investigators believe Romero exited the vehicle to attempt to fix the tire when he was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, remained at the scene and was reportedly not intoxicated. Romero suffered fatal injuries from the collision.
