What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at FM 969 in Travis County, TX on December 10th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:18 a.m. Investigators believe a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 31-year-old Gerardo Vargas was westbound on FM 969. Traveling eastbound at the same time was a tractor-trailer. Police allege the Chevrolet veered out of its lane across a left turn lane before entering into eastbound traffic. There, police say the vehicle collided with the tractor-trailer, the collision leaving Vargas with fatal injuries.
