What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Hwy 302 in Ector County, TX on July 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. An eastbound tractor-trailer collided head-on with a westbound tractor-trailer in a construction zone before catching fire. Both drivers were killed in the crash. Police identified them as 68-year-old Gilberto Uresti and 57-year-old Jose A Alonso-Montelongo. Additional information was not immediately available.
