What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at Lee Rd in Houston, TX on June 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Buick LeSabre was headed northbound when it allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Greens Rd. It then collided with an eastbound Jeep Cherokee, causing the Buick to overturn into a a ditch. The driver of the Buick, 22-year-old Gionni Garrett, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other driver, a 22-year-old female, was uninjured. Police say she did not display signs of intoxication and was released following questioning.
