Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that South Counts Rd in San Jacinto County, TX on May 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:56 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram operated by 45-year-old Gregory Allen Powell was headed southbound on Counts Rd when it veered from the road as it approached a curve. It then collided with a group of trees, the impact causing the vehicle to overturn. Powell suffered serious injuries in the crash. Reports indicate officers alleging suspicion Powell was under the influence of alcohol and show a Driving While Intoxicated charge being recommended and/or issued.
