What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at NE Stallings in Nacogdoches County, TX on February 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Patriot operated by 27-year-old Claudia Luna Villantes, was headed southbound and slowing to enter a private drive. As it did so, a Ford F-150 operated by 49-year-old Jerry Chandler collided with the rest of a Jeep Grand Cherokee ahead. The impact pushed the Cherokee into the Patriot. The drive of the Cherokee, identified as 69-year-old Griceldo Garcia, suffered fatal injuries. Villantes and a child passenger suffered minor injuries. Two of Garcia's passengers were hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not provided.
