What Happened

Officials in San Benito, TX, are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on February 13, 2025, at approximately 7:54 p.m. on Farm to Market Road 732. According to investigators, a Dodge Charger was traveling southwest when it allegedly failed to give half of the roadway and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling northeast. A third vehicle, a Chevrolet Colorado, was also involved in the crash.

The 47-year-old driver of the Charger, identified as Tomas Vasquez, was fatally injured. Two occupants of the Dodge Ram, including 54-year-old driver, Guadalupe Sanchez and 54-year-old Maria Alvarez, sustained suspected serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet, a 58-year-old a 65-year-old, were reportedly uninjured. Investigators identified contributing factors as failure to give half of the roadway and alcohol consumption by the driver of the Dodge Charger. Additional information was not available.
