What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 45 in Austin, TX on July 17th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around midnight. Officials say the incident involved a Nissan Pathfinder operated by 37-year-old Gustavo Hernandez Palomo veering from the road while headed westbound on I-45 into a concrete barrier. The collision left vehicle debris in the roadway that police say led to a collision between a Kia Forte and GMC vehicle. The occupants of those vehicles all suffered, according to reports, possible injuries. Palomo was seriously injured and, also according to reports, arrested on a DWI charge.
