What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-35 in Austin, TX on January 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:46 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 38-year-old Laredo man was headed northbound in a far left lane. At the same time, a Toyota Camry operated by 42-year-old Hamidou Tamsir Ndiaye was northbound in a middle lane. As the truck merged lanes, it struck the Toyota, causing it to lose control and crash into a median. Ndiaye and a 63-year-old passenger were both seriously injured. The Laredo man was uninjured and cited for Improper Lane Change.
