Police say the incident happened around 3:17 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 25-year-old Harley Lee Stabler is believed to have been headed northbound before losing control for unknown reasons. The vehicle is said to have traveled onto the southbound side of the roadway before colliding with the rear left portion of a tractor-trailer in the lane. The collision caused Stabler to be thrown from the motorcycle and caused fatal injuries. The operator of the tractor-trailer, who was not publicly identified, was not injured, according to police.
