What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured several people involved at US 77 in Victoria County, TX on March 9th, 2024. Authorities are saying the incident happened around 7:23 p.m. According to investigators, a Pontiac Firebird was southbound on US 77 prior to allegedly entering into northbound lanes of traffic. Once there, police allege the vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction before colliding with a Toyota Tacoma in the process of performing an evasive action. The impact is said to have caused the Toyota to overturn into a nearby ditch as the Pontiac continued forward into a Chevrolet Traverse. Reports indicate the driver of the Pontiac, who was not publicly identified, was seriously injured. Also seriously injured was the unidentified driver of the Chevrolet and 31-year-old passenger, Heather Schramm. Reports indicate the Pontiac driver was cited for Driving on Wrong Side of Road Not Passing.
