Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 517 in Galveston County, TX on October 8th, 2022. According to investigators, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 52-year-old Henry Shaffer was headed westbound on FM 517 approaching a curve in the road. The vehicle is believed to have veered to the right while taking the curve and lost control while attempting to brake. This caused it to travel into a grassy area before striking a tree.
