What Happened

Collin County Sheriff's Office officials have begun investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed two people involved at County Rd 539 and County Rd 543 in Collin County, TX on June 22nd, 2023. Police say a van and SUV were the vehicles involved. They allege the van disregarded a stop sign while performing a turn onto County Rd 539 from County Rd 543. It led to the vehicle colliding with the SUV, which was pushed into a nearby ditch in the collision. In the ditch were two construction workers, who were both hit by the vehicle. One of the construction workers, identified as Hilario Alvarado Zuniga, was killed while the other had suspected minor injuries. A passenger in the SUV also died in the incident. Police did not comment on the condition of the drivers and had no additional information to share.
