What Happened

Authorities have information on a collision that killed two people at State Hwy 87 in Galveston County, TX on June 5th, 2024. Police are saying the incident happened around 9:31 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Tahoe was eastbound on Hwy 87. At the same time, police two pedestrians were walking eastbound towards a construction job site. Police say the Chevrolet is alleged to have failed to remain in its lane before crossing over a westbound lane and striking both pedestrians. The pedestrians, identified as 48-year-old Hrishikesh Moghe and 52-year-old Alexis Torres, were fatally injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
