What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at I-30 in Mount Vernon, TX on October 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:33 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Camry operated by 61-year-old Hugo Flores was westbound on I-30 prior to allegedly changing lanes to merge into a left lane. While doing so, authorities say the vehicle struck a a Chevrolet Tahoe, the impact allegedly causing the Tahoe to veer from the road into a nearby ditch. The Toyota lost control in the crash and went left of center before striking a tractor-trailer. Officials say Flores was seriously injured in the incident while there no reported injuries with anyone else involved. Additional information was not immediately available.
