Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 96 in Jasper County, TX on September 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:05 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla operated by 21-year-old Hyrum Edward Lee Ratcliff was southbound before allegedly failing to control its speed and colliding with the rear of a commercial vehicle. The vehicle then veered into a ditch before traveling int a private yard and striking a wooden fence and side of a house. The crash left Ratcliff with serious injuries, police say.
