What Happened

San Marcos Police have identified the person killed in a two-vehicle collision at Wonder World Dr in San Marcos, TX on January 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Officials were not able to say how the crash occurred but did confirm that a box truck and Mazda passenger car collided near an access ramp. The driver of the Mazda, 18-year-old Iliana Velez, died at the scene. The box truck reportedly did not stop and left the scene. Police later arrested 28-year-old Jordan Michael Sannicola in connection with the crash.
