What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least two people at State Hwy 276 in Rockwall County, TX on July 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Highlander operated by a 43-year-old Tyler woman is alleged to have run a stop sign at the FM 551 intersection, striking the right side of a Ford Ecosport. The collision caused the vehicle to strike a nearby Nissan Sentra operated by 27-year-old Inna Lobanova in an adjacent lane. The collision left Lovanova with fatal injuries when the vehicle was pushed into a southwest ditch. The driver of the Ecosport, identified as 21-year-old Rileigh McCullough, suffered suspected serious injuries. The Tyler woman and a 17-year-old passenger had non-life-threatening injuries while an additional passenger was evaluated for possible injuries. Authorities recommended a charge of Criminally Negligent Homicide. Additional information was not immediately available.
