Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 82 in Lamar County, TX on February 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. A Chevrolet operated by 35-year-old James E. Christy is said to have been headed westbound on US-82 when it collided with the rear of a Mahindra 8000 tractor, operated by 38-year-old Jake T. Rempel. The impact is said to have ejected Rempel from the vehicle and he suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Christy reportedly suffered minor injuries. Additional details were not available.
