What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed a driver at Jed Robinson Loop in Athens, TX on December 3rd, 2021. They are saying it happened around 12:20 p.m. Investigators believe a vehicle operated by 55-year-old James Andy Davis was headed northbound on FM 1615 as it approached the intersection with Loop 7. They say the vehicle traveled into the path of a tractor-trailer at the intersection and was t-boned. The impact pushed the vehicle through a barbed wired fence about 280 feet west of the intersection and Davis suffered fatal injuries. The other driver, a 50-year-old Jacksonville man, was not injured.
