What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have identified the person killed in a crash at FM 1844 in Upshur County, TX on January 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. A pickup truck operated by a 42-year-old Hames Engeman reportedly veered from the road while headed westbound on FM 1844. Investigators say the truck overcorrected across an eastbound lane into a ditch before crashing into multiple trees. Engeman was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
