Authorities have information on a crash that killed one person at US 290 in Bastrop County, TX on May 20th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2:25 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Impala headed southbound at Roy Davis was involved in a collision with a westbound Nissan Titan. Police claim the Chevrolet may have failed to yield to the Nissan prior to the collision, which left the driver of the Chevrolet, 85-year-old James Fitzpatrick, seriously injured. Source also say there was a missing stop symbol at the intersection which may have caused or contributed to the crash. Reports say Fitzpatrick was hospitalized and later died of his injuries.
