Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 81 in Montague County, TX on March 5th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 3:03 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Five Hundred was northbound, navigating a curve in the roadway. The vehicle is alleged to have traveled onto the opposite side of the roadway for unclear reasons, forcing another vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision. While attempting to return to its lane of travel, reports say the Ford over corrected and went into a skid. It then went through a fence and overturned, leaving the 63-year-old driver with non-life-threatening injuries, reports say. Reports also say a 74-year-old passenger, identified as James Hall, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities allege suspicion of possible alcohol involvement in the incident.
