Police say the incident happened as a tractor-trailer headed southwest on US Hwy 79. Officials allege the tractor-trailer performed a u-turn and blocking part of the roadway as another vehicle approached. Reports say that vehicle, operated by 74-year-old James Pinkerton, collided with truck, the impact sending the vehicle into a culvert. The crash left Pinkerton with fatal injuries at the scene while 79-year-old passenger, Charles Hebert, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
