Police are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at I-10 in Orange, TX on October 7th, 2024. Officials are saying the incident happened around 9:25 p.m. According to investigators, a a motorcycle headed eastbound is alleged to have performed a lane change as the vehicle came up on a tractor-trailer. Police claim the vehicle traveled between a pair of 18-wheelers before settling into a lane behind an additional 18-wheeler. There in the road, police say was a piece of lumber that was struck the motorcycle. The impact is said to have caused the vehicle to lose control, striking a nearby guardrail and ejection its operator. The operator, identified as 44-year-old James Valdez, was fatally injured, reports say. Additional information was not available.
