What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 380 in Decatur, TX on November 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:16 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 51-year-old Scott, LA man was headed eastbound on Business 380 when it began turning westbound. Officers allege the truck failed to yield during the turn and as a result, was struck by a westbound Toyota 4Runner operated by 47-year-old Jamie Karl Amon. Amon was killed in the collision while the Scott man was not injured. A Failure to Yield Right of Way charge was recommended and/or issued.
