What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at SH 123 in Seguin, TX on April 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:32 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 57-year-old Charles Shaffer was southbound at the time of incident. Authorities allege as it approached an Audi A5 that was stopped at a traffic signal, the truck collided with the rear of the Audi, possibly due to driver fatigue or inattention. The driver of the Audi, identified as 47-year-old Jason Arambula, was the only occupant of the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, according to police. The collision caused the truck to overturn, leaving Shaffer with injuries police also believed to be serious in nature. Both drivers were hospitalized for treatment.
