What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at I-35E in Dallas, TX on December 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 29-year-old male is said to have been headed northbound on I-35E as was a GMC Sierra operated by 24-year-old Jason Rodriguez. Police say the tractor-trailer began to go into a slide and struck a guardrail before overcorrecting and becoming jack knifed. The Sierra then collided with the left side of the trailer and the front became partially lodged underneath. Rodriguez suffered minor injuries while the other driver was evaluated for possible injuries. None of Rodriguez's passengers were injured. Investigators say unsafe speeds may have contributed to the crash.
